I was told to do a project for my Int& Online Comms class, where I needed to do 3 or more posts about Data Security and Network for the coming few weeks. I was told to start the project on the 3trd of November and it had to be done for the beginning of December.
The Topics I choose to talk about were:
Rogue security software. why? A special type of threat is software that claims to be security software, then tricks the users to pay a sum of money to be really protected, sounds interesting.
How to protect Data from getting hacked (10 steps). Nowadays there are people that don't really understand the risks of having too much information online, or what they have to do to defend themselves against hackers.
Consequences of having your personal details on the internet and how to avoid that. I will have a video to back me up on this one. sometimes is just the case of being careful.

Consequences of having your personal details on the internet and how to avoid that
I've notice that some persons are not careful enough about the personal details that they release to the internet, and this is something that worries me. Most PC users don't really have the knowledge that we (computing students) have. Once in a while some websites pop up on my computer asking me for details and to me these might look dodgy, but to someone who doesn't have the same amount of experience, they might think its a safe website... And even if it is safe, there are some personal details that you just don't want to have in public sites like Facebook for example, Facebook is a really good place to find out people's address or date of birth, full name, phone number and things like that. it might sound harmless but you never know who's on the other side of the computer. Don't think you would like to have people ordering pizza to your place every 15 minutes, and you would need to pay for that... and this is just the minimum of what can happen.

How to protect Data from getting hacked (10 basic steps)
This will be a brief tutorial on how to protect your data.
Get a good antivirus. Is always better to pay for a antivirus, but there is some save antivirus free that you can download. just remember that you shouldn't have more then 1 antivirus, because they will start fighting with each other and the virus will get inside your computer just like a biblical plague of insects. I personally like the Microsoft Security Essentials, but there are others. doesn't really matter which one you have, just make sure you have one.
Make sure your Firewall is turned on. a Firewall is like a Extra security system that comes with your operating system. (operating system its the base software of a computer, like windows 7 for example, its where the rest of programs run on.) It makes harder for hackers to get into your computer and steal information. Still, a Firewall on its own is not enough, you will still need that antivirus.
There is a Program that I like very much. it is called Malware Bites, it not only helps keeping your computer fast, but it also helps against hackers with some extra protection.
Protect your documents with password. nowadays is really easy to protect your documents with passwords, that's one of the most important steps to secure your data. Just make sure no one else knows the password, and you won't forget it.
Use a password on your router. its really easy for someone who works with computers to get into your computer if they get into the same network as your computer is.
Use strong passwords. Not only numbers or letters, but some random characters as well. a password doesn't need to make cense, just make it random and hard to guess. once again, just make sure you remember it.
Be careful with the amount of personal data you put online. For example, Facebook is a great way to get people details. With your address for example, you could be getting pizza every 15 minutes and you would have to pay for that. Or annoying phone calls if they get your number.
Encrypting information is also a way to protect you data, but is not easy to encrypt something. The only way someone can unencrypt you document, is if they have the code.
Protect your computer by downloading the latest patches or security updates, which should cover vulnerabilities.
Common sense. You are responsible for protecting yourself, because at the end of the day, is anything REALLY safe? You are the one who have to be careful where and who you tell your details.

Rogue security software
A special type of threat is software that claims to be security software, then tricks the users to pay a sum of money to be really protected, sounds interesting.
Nowadays some people are trying to make money in the easiest way possible, hacking is one of them. In this post I will be talking about Rogue security software, because there is many people out there that don't have the knowledge/information to be prepared to this kind of situations, and they can easily let themselves look like fools.
Rogue security software it's an software that claims to be a security software, and it will eventually poop up tons of notifications in order to get you to buy them programs for you to be "truly protected".
Any time we install any new program... we are likely to install others programs with it, unconsciously of course, but with there programs also comes virus and all kind of online threats. This is why in my opinion, you should be checking the programs you have installed on your computer, every 2 or 3 weeks, and uninstall any unwanted programs.
If by any chance when you're installing any new program, and for some reason you think the installation is being too quick or that it looks suspicious, you should instantly cancel the installation and ask for advise to someone who understands of the matter.

Resume: William Twining is a healfy and inteligent boy. He studies in a Important college and he lives in a Huge Mansion with his uncle. This room contains a magical seal, and William accidentally summons a demon. This demon, Dantalion, tells William that he exercises authority in the selection of the "replacement" ruler of the demon world! So naturally, the candidates to the throne will pursue this desperated and angry young man...
My Opinion: It's hard to say. without doubths this is a good anime, I had lots of fun watching it, but, it is kinda confusing at the begining. In this anime, thousands of unexpected things may appe so, if you are thinking to watching this anime, you better get prepared to have fun. If you dont know if you should watch it, i'll let a Video right bellow for you to have a idea of what you can expect.

A high school boy, talented in kendo with serious personality who was a somewhat dark past and cold relationshio with his family, and, due to certain circumstances, forms a fake relationship with his childhood friend Kurumi, Their relationship is one of the main conflict sources between him and Gekkou, his younger brother. For some reason, since around middle school, he doesn't dare to call her for the first name anymore, he getes tired of that relationship and start to call her by her last name.
He gained evasive magic after Mui turned him to a magician. His Aspect (a tool that acts as a focal point through which magicians project their power) is a sword that has the height and weight of a kendo sword, named "Twilight" by its previous owner.
My Opinion:
This is a very confused anime at the beguining. It can turn a bit borring, since you dont understand anything what´s going on, but i think, that´s because, maybe, the editors of the anime, want you to feel the same thing that the main personage feels, confused...
Once you understand what´s going on, you will start to like the anime more and more, and it will get to a point when you just cant wait for the next episode.

Staz, is a vampire from the surreal "Demon World", and Fuyumi, an ordinary girl who accidentally wanders into the Demon World through a portal. Subsequently after meeting each other, Fuyumi is killed by a carnivorous plant and turned into a ghost, causing Staz to take responsibility and pledge to help bring her back to life.
My Opinion:
A very interesting story, good for those who like comedy action and supernatural stuff. I laught so, so, so hard watching this anime... some times its just too much. It has lots of ecchi as well, you guys will enjoy it.
